The Legend of Forty-Four

Legacy isn't a head start.
It's a higher standard.

XLIV builds AI-powered solutions for people who expect more, inspired by a legacy that demands it.

No number in sports has the pedigree that 44 has at Syracuse.

Between 1954 and 1966, three running backs wore the number 44 at Syracuse University, back to back to back. Each one became a legend. Each one changed the game. And each one passed the torch to the next.

The number became so sacred that Syracuse retired it from football. The U.S. Postal Service granted the university permission to change its ZIP code to 13244. Every campus phone number begins with 44. Statues of all three players stand on Plaza 44.

It is, by any measure, the most iconic number in college athletics. Not because of what it represents on a jersey, but because of what it demands from whoever carries it forward.

44

Three who changed everything.

44

Jim Brown

1954 — 1956

Widely regarded as the greatest football player of all time. Set an NCAA record of 43 points in a single game. Became the NFL's all-time leading rusher. He didn't just wear the number, he gave it meaning.

44

Ernie Davis

1959 — 1961

The first Black athlete to win the Heisman Trophy. Led Syracuse to a national championship as a sophomore. President Kennedy personally requested to meet him. He broke a barrier that changed American sports forever.

44

Floyd Little

1964 — 1966

Three-time All-American. Recruited to Syracuse by Ernie Davis himself before Davis passed away. Every time he played, he carried the weight of Brown and Davis on his back — and he elevated it. A torch received and a torch carried.

Every time I played, I knew who I was representing — not only Syracuse University, but Ernie Davis and Jim Brown. Floyd Little

Twenty-five carried it. 1921 — 1998.

We named our company after a standard, not a feature.

XLIV is a woman-owned business, founded by alums with over forty combined years in software, data, and business operations. We've built platforms, sold companies, and spent decades in the trenches with enterprise clients who need things that actually work.

Our founders met at Syracuse University. For both of them the connection runs back generations, through family who walked the same campus long before there was a company to name.

The university isn't just an alma mater, it's woven into the DNA of this company. When we decided to build an AI company together, we wanted a name that carried real weight. Something with a story that means something to us and demands something of us.

Jim Brown set the standard. Ernie Davis elevated it. Floyd Little carried it forward. That's the cycle we believe in: build something great, then make it greater. Every product we ship carries that expectation.

AI applications with substance.

Our first product, CentrixIQ, is an AI-powered SaaS platform built for CPG food manufacturers — managing sales operations, trade spend, broker coordination, and market intelligence in a single system. It exists because we spent decades watching the industry struggle with tools that weren't built for how they actually work.

But XLIV is bigger than one product. We are a rapid AI solution development company. We build intelligent software for industries that have been underserved by technology — with the speed of a startup and the judgment of people who've been doing this for decades.

Everyone's talking about AI. We're shipping it.
